The Best Theme To Think Upon

"...What think ye of Christ?...." (Matit'yah ha Levi 22:42) [Matt.]

I was in evening worship with my wife and children just now and we sung a song that is so full of meaning that I thought within myself that what better theme to think on than that which is contained in this song? Can any of  you come up with a theme more exalted than this one? Please let me know if you have a better way of spending your thought life. (thought life meaning the person place or thing or things you think about the most)

I'm currently in the process of preparing the next study; but I thought to do a post on this most important theme.

As a matter of fact I'm persuaded that nothing else is worthy of our supreme attention than this theme. My goal in this life is to make it a mental habit to continually meditate on this theme as I go throughout my daily life; (home chores, work, exercising, whatever else there is to do).

What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this
That caused the Lord of bliss
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
To bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down, sinking down,
When I was sinking down
Beneath God’s righteous frown,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul for my soul,
Christ laid aside His crown for my soul.
To God and to the Lamb I will sing, I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb I will sing;
To God and to the Lamb,
Who is the great I AM,
While millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing,
While millions join the theme, I will sing.
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on;
And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on.
And when from death I’m free
I’ll sing His love for me,
And through eternity I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
And through eternity I’ll sing on.

 "....He is altogether lovely....." (Shir Hashirim 5:16)[S.ofS.]

From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.(Gal. 6:17)

Shalom.

  2. Shalom Sarah,

    I agree the song is very beautiful. The title is: 'Wondrous Love' Attributed to Alexander Means. If you google it you should get the tune as well.
