Into A Far Country (Conclusion)

Shalom in Yahshua and welcome once again to the teachings of Rabbi Yahshua Messiah.

Our post today 'Into a Far Country' is based on Mat.21:33-46 (KJV)

Our method of presentation will be as follows:

1. Statement of the obvious meaning.
2. Showing the deeper meaning which may be new to some.

Today we shall look at the deeper meaning of this passage.

1.Statement of the deeper meaning:

Vs.33- The 'Householder' is YHVH-(Gen.2:8); (Num.24:2-6)

The 'Vineyard' is The Christian religion (Mat.21:42,43); (1Pet.2:9)
The 'hedge' (the barrier of protection) is  YHVH'S Torah, His Law (Deu.17:19,20;28:58,59;Job.1:1,10;Eccl.10:8) {as exemplified in the life of Yahshua} (Mat.5:17,18)
The winepress is the  doctrine (of Yahshua Messiah as delineated in both the Old and New Testaments. which drops down to others. (Mat.13:52) (Jhn.5:39;Mat.26:28);(Joe.3:18;Isa.55:1)
The Tower is now The sanctuary in Shamayim (Heaven) (Heb.8:1,2)
The husbandmen are the elders/pastors. (1Pet.5:1-4)

Vs.34- And when the time of the fruit drew near.-This can be none other than the coming of the Messiah -Yahshua coming to His "own" the Christian nation (1Pet.2:9)(Mat.22:1-10) that He might find the ripe "fruit" (His righteousness in/among them); and thus claim them as His own and appear the 2nd time without sin unto salvation.

But like the Jews of His day; the Christian leaders are almost wholly unprepared to receive Yahshua's final ministry for them. And, like the Jews leaders of old, they receive nothing from Him but.....go away empty.

he sent his servants to the husbandmen- As the time got closer to the coming of Yahshua in His final ministry for them (in the office as their High Priest); He sent a great religious revival in the early eighteen hundreds.

that they might receive the fruits of it.-That is to say...that they might receive the godly produce of righteous obedience to the words which YHVH had sent them (the people) in the prophets instruction (by YHVH) to the people.

Vs.35"And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another."-That is to say they were persecuted for righteousness sake." (Keep in mind that persecution has many forms of expression.)

Vs.36-"Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise."

Vs.37-"But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son."(Love hopeth all things)

The sending of Yahshua was/is given in the form of having an understanding and acceptance and belief of both the Old and New Testaments. For Yahshua says: 'Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.'

Keep in mind that the word 'law' in this reference means the Torah. (the first five books of the OT) And keep in mind that the winepress is the the OT and NT.

This combination of Law and Grace is also depicted in Rev.14:12: Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of Godand the faith of Jesus. Keep in mind that this reference is to end time believers in Yahshua.

Vs.38-"But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance."

But like the Jewish leaders of Yahshua's day; the vast majority of the religious world despise the messages Law and Grace and have taught in it's place the commandments of men. (notwithstanding that even among them YHVH has had faithful servants. 'And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:'

The message of Law and Grace comes through the messengers which have been appointed of YHVH " They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out [his] vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

And now, here in the end of time, the voice of the 'other husbandmen' now speaks.

Shalom and Ahava In Yahshua.

Into a Far Country Pt.1

Shalom in Yahshua and welcome once again to the teachings of Rabbi Yahshua Messiah.

Our post today 'Into a Far Country' is based on Mat.21:33-46 (KJV)

Our method of presentation will be as follows:

1. Statement of the obvious meaning.
2. Showing the deeper meaning which may be new to some.

1.Statement of the obvious meaning:

Vs.33- The 'Householder' is YHVH-(Gen.2:8); (Num.24:2-6)
The 'Vineyard is' The Jewish people (Ps.80:14,15); (Deu.32:10)
The hedge is  YHVH'S Torah, His Law (Isa.5:5; Eze.13:5) {for more on this please ask}
The winepress is the  doctrine which drops down to others.(Joe.3:18;Isa.55:1)
The Tower is The sanctuary (Ex.25:8)
The husbandmen are the Levites/teachers.

Vs.34- And when the time of the fruit drew near.-This can be none other than the coming of the Messiah -Yahshua coming to His "own" the Jewish nation that He might find the ripe "fruit" (His righteousness in/among them).

 he sent his servants to the husbandmen- As the time got closer to the coming of Yahshua He sent His servants (the prophets) to the Levites/leaders and teachers of the people;

that they might receive the fruits of it.-That is to say...that they might receive the godly produce of righteous obedience to the words which YHVH had sent them (the people) in the prophets instruction (by YHVH) to the people.

Vs.35"And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another."-That is to say they were persecuted for righteousness sake."

Vs.36-"Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise."

Vs.37-"But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son."(Love hopeth all things)

Vs.38-"But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance."

Thus Yahshua (The Son) was/is the heir, and they killed/kill Him as they planned/plan and seize on (His inheritance) the people, all who would come to Him. (Deu.32:9).

The Desolate Heritages

Shalom and welcome once again to the teachings of the Word of YHVH.

In this post we are going to continue on a thought that was presented in our previous teaching; namely "the desolate heritages". Isa. 49:8

From our previous post we learned that it is Yahshua's desire that we receive new wine in new bottles. New truths or truths that are new to us are to be contained in new bottles or the new heart that Yahshua promised in Eze.36:26,27.

These new truths may not, at first be comfortable to our current understanding; but as lovers of truth we will search them out (like the Bereans to see if these things are so.

Now the text of Scripture under consideration states thus:

Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

This is a beautiful promise! Obviously some saints have been praying for help, and what is YHVH'S answer....I will give thee for a covenant of the people......to inherit the desolate heritages.

Obviously the question is what is it of YHVH that is desolate and it should be also an heritage? Is it possible that major truths of YHVH's word have been left desolate? and none but a very small number inherit them?

Is it possible that the vast majority of the christian world is missing out on some new wine....which is to be deposited in new bottles?

And is it possible that most say "No man also having drunk old [wine] straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better." ? Lk.5:39

Is it possible that the desolate heritages are the same as:

Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways [from] the ancient paths, to walk in paths, [in] a way not cast up; (Jer.18:15) (?)

If so, what are they? What beautiful truths are as yet undiscovered to most of the christian world? Has not YHVH promised to give us
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. (Isa. 61:1) and

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. (Isa.61:2)

Did not Messiah say that we are like a city set on a hill? Why then are the cities wasted and are in need of repair?

And [they that shall be] of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. (Isa.58:12)

Shalom all and Ahava in Yahshua.

NEW CLOTH & NEW WINE

Shalom in Yahshua and welcome once again to the teachings of our Rabbi and Master Yahshua Ha Mashiach.

Today we are going to look at two verses of Scripture in found in Matt.9:16,17.

The context of these verses gives us the clear meaning of these two verses.

Here we find Yahshua being asked by the Pharisees why Yahshua eats with the publicans and sinners and next the disciples of John ask why His disciples do not fast but they, and the Pharisees do?

In verse 12 Yahshua clearly presents the case that they which are whole need not a physician but they who are sick. And in verse 15 He answers the question regarding fasting.

Now that we have the context lets look at vs. 16 & 17.

A new cloth is not put to an old garment....or else the rent is made worse.

Similarly, new wine is put into new bottles for if it is put into the old, the bottles break and the wine runs out.

Today, many turn, and even run to their supposed religious leaders (the pharisees of today) and ask about this doctrine and that teaching, and behold they receive the old garment, and the bottles with old traditions mingled with just enough truth to deceive. And they are deceived.

Others, being satisfied with their traditions and spiritual attainments look know farther then the latest sermon for spiritual understanding and insight; thus when the old garment and bottles of old (mingled doctrine) is presented they are satisfied and go away empty and sick. For they know not that they are sick or in need of new wine which will help them in the coming trouble.

They do not receive the new wine (doctrine) in the new bottle (renewed heart and mind) and thus the work which Elohim designs to be done in and through them is left undone. The Master comes and the slothful servant can't give Him His own with usury.

Some are sincerely ignorant of the falsehoods they have inherited but nonetheless YHVH will give them opportunity to discover them.
(Jer.16:21) & Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages; (Isa.49:8)

We cannot receive the new unless we discover first off that the old is in need of further reformation. The reformation that was started in the 16th century was and is continuing on apace. Only those who avail themselves of the precious rays of light now shining from the Word of YHVH; and bring to light our present duties and privileges will be prepared for the day of trouble which is even now beginning to descend upon us.

Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe [which is] instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man [that is] an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure [things] new and old. Mat.13:52

The Ninety and Nine Sheep (A Deep Study)

Shalom In Yahshua and welcome once again to this blog!

Today we well study more closely the portion of Scripture found in Mat.18:11-13.

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep], than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.

And since we have called this post (A Deep Study) we will not mention the obvious teaching now but focus on the deeper meaning.

We learn from verse 11 that Yahshua came to "save that which was lost".

However, we discover in verse 13 that the 99 sheep did not go astray. And we are told in Isa.53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

We also learn from Isa. that we are 'like sheep'. So since Yahshua came to 'save that which was lost; and according to this parable in Mat.18 there are presented 99 sheep that has not gone astray; and we are told in Isa. that all we like sheep have gone astray, how do we reconcile this seeming contradiction?

There can be but one answer. The lost sheep that Yahshua has come to save is this one lost world; the only world that chose to rebel against YHVH. There must; by direct application, be other worlds (the 99) that have not gone astray.

Looking Back

Looking back we see the future
In clear and radiant lines
We see a new beginning
The Day Star clears our minds

Of all the pain and sorrow
Of all the mourning sea
Of all that brought tomorrow
Of the day that we now see

Looking back we see our destiny
Of one but two ways holding
The First of hope and restoration,
The other so dismal and appalling,

Looking back, we must!
Tis what is required of thee
To understand the beginning,
Of what there is to be.....

The Net

Shalom to all my visitors and followers.
As a boy going up my life was closely connected with the sea. In Bermuda (the place of my birth) one is never far from it. As a matter of fact, the furthest one can get from the shore is about 1/2 mile.

Flatts Bermuda....the small fishing inlet where I grew up.
I was the step son of a fisherman and the grandson of a fisherman; with other relatives also making their living as fishermen. As a boy I would work during the summers on my step dad's fishing boat. We cast many a net to haul bait.  Many times at the exact location shown in this picture of Flatts, Bermuda.

So what does this trip down memory lane have to do with our title 'The Net'.

The Net is a parable that Yahshua taught. It is told on this wise:

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.(Mat.13:47-50)

What is there to learn from such a simple parable?

1. Firstly, that the kingdom of Heaven is like a fishing net.
2.  The net by inference must be none other than the Word of YHWH; the Gospel. For it is cast into the sea of this world.
3. The purpose of casting the net into the sea is to gather fish=people.
4. When the net is full; that is to say when the net has caught all there is to catch,
5. It is drawn or haul to shore; which I take to mean drawn to the end of probationary time for this world.
6. They which draw the net to shore are the those whom YHWH has committed the oracles of truth.
7. The setting down = a time of judgment ".... the judgment was set, and the books were opened. (Dan.7:9)
8. The good fish= 'just people' are gathered into vessels; meaning are given new vessels/bodies to inhabit. (Phl.3:21)
9. the bad fish= the wicked are cast away, that is to say to hell.
10. Angels  sever/separate the wicked from among the just.
11. In hell there will be; wailing and gnashing of teeth.
12. The good fish never turn into bad fish; and, the bad never turn into good fish.
13. What type of fish is determined by the choice we make in regards to Yahshua and His infinite sacrifice for us at Calvary. Will we accept Him as supreme in our lives? Will we follow Him in all things? Will we endure to the end? Yahshua knows the answer to all these questions for you and me. He does not determine the outcome; we do, but He knows the outcome; Therefore,
14. "  ....choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." Jos.24:15

Until next time........

PUBLICANS & SINNERS

After the wonderful miracle Worker had completed His work at Capernaum  "... he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. " (Mk.2:13) The great Teacher taught all who would listen to His all wise instruction; and they which heard and believed found the True Fountain of life! It is of note that we consider that "all the multitude resorted unto Him" but not many believed on Him. For we find in the account that; after calling Levi to the ministry Yahshua was at his house for a meal. At this meal we begin to learn the various motives of those who flocked to Him.

Yahshua ate with the "publicans and sinners" as they as well as He, was invited to the meal. Now comes motive 1. "  And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners"? (Mk.2:16)

Now the Scribes and Pharisees were leaders of the children of Abraham (according to the flesh) however we see them using their influence in a strange way. We note that they do not question Yahshua directly but go to His disciples to sow some seeds. And what type of seeds did they sow? " How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners"? (Mk.2:16)  Many things can be accomplished; for good or evil through asking questions. As we look more closely at the nature of this question we discover the following:
1. The question was put to the disciples.
2. We can hear in this question the ire of incredulity
3. How can this be the Messiah when He eats with such people as this? "publicans and sinners"
4. Publicans were considered traitors of the Jews and was thus hated.
5. The common sinner was looked upon as having no special significances to YHWH and were considered unclean and was avoided so to keep one pure from ceremonial defilement.
6.  Is this the work that Messiah was to do when He comes to earth?
7. Do we look for One who is to thus spend His time?

Thus the seeds of unbelief and dissent was sown among the wheat so that the entire crop would be destroyed. (Remember the story of the Wheat and the Tares)?

But the wise Teacher and Prophet saw through their veiled zeal for Messiah and went straightway to the heart of the matter.

"When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Mk.2:17)

As Yahshua's teaching goes forth today ; in many ways; the "christian" multitude flock to see Him. In that multitude are many leaders & people of power and influence. They, like the Scribes and Pharisees of Yahshua's day use the opportunity to sow seeds of unbelief and discord. They go not into the Kingdom of Heaven, neither suffer (allow) those who are entering to go in. Tares are sown in the field (churches) and the harvest is now becoming apparent. Yahshua uses this opportunity to state the purpose of His mission: ".... I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" (Mk.2:17)

To those who consider themselves to be righteous in there own eyes.....His Teaching is not for them. They consider themselves to be of great spiritual significance to YHWH and as such they view themselves and all who do not meet their narrow criterion are looked upon with no friendly eyes. To such the prophecy speaks: Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not: (Jer.5:21) But to those who come to Him with His implanted motives of confession, repentance, and seeking to do His will He says: " If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or [whether] I speak of myself." (Jn.7:17)
